Dolores Frances Lorensky, (nee Gach) of Elyria passed away at LifeCare Center of Elyria on March 13, 2024 at the age of 94 from complications of congestive heart failure. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Lorensky was born in McMechen, WV on August 25, 1929, and graduated from Union High School, Benwood, WV in 1947, at which time she and her family moved to Elyria, Ohio.
Dolores was a 32 year employee of the City Loan & Savings Co. and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she served as part-time parish secretary until her retirement in 1998. Mrs. Lorensky participated in the church's Altar & Rosary Society and served on the Parish Council, the Liturgy Commission, the Finance Council, and was a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. Dolores, an avid sports fan, followed the Cleveland Browns, the Guardians and The Ohio State games. She loved live theater, especially musicals, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
Dolores is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Schlather of Oberlin, Ohio and Brenda, (Larry) Stier-Anstine of Coldwater, Michigan; son-in-law, Charles Breehne, of Elyria; grandchildren, Steven Breehne of Toledo, Tim Breehne (Michelle) of Elyria, Ian (Deb) Schlather of Mason, Ohio, Corbin Schlather (Kelly) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jacob (McKenna) Stier of Ada, Michigan, and Megan Stier of Astoria, New York; step-grandsons, Ryan Anstine of Columbus, Nick Anstine (Sarah) of Pepper Pike, Ohio; and great grandsons, Dylan Breehne, and Colton Schlather; and four nieces.
Mrs. Lorensky was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ben (Benny) W.; daughter, Beverly Breehne; son-in-law, William Schlather; brother, William Gach; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Earl Jaquay; and parents, Stephen and Mary ( Nakaska) Gach.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street in Elyria. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m.on Monday, March 18, 2024 at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Avenue in Elyria. Reverends Charles Ryba and Charles Diederich will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Elyria, immediately following mass. Following the burial service, family and friends are invited to join the Lorensky family for a tribute luncheon at St. Agnes Church Hall.
