Donald Wimsatt, born on December 13, 1940, in Elyria, OH passed away on March 26, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic in Avon.
He was the beloved son of Garland P. and Louise (Bislich) Wimsatt. Donald was the loving partner of Phyllis Wimsatt and the proud father of Amanda (Chuck) Klein, Michael (Laura) Wimsatt, and Kristin Wimsatt; One grandchild, Garrett Wimsatt, nieces and nephews; as well as eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; sisters, Virginia (Wimsatt) Weber, and Margaret (Wimsatt) Banville; brothers, Ronald Wimsatt and George Wimsatt.
Donald attended Elyria Catholic High School and graduated in 1959. He was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran who cherished his family more than anything. Donald spent his working years as a Police Officer for 25 years, and later at The City of Elyria Engineers office for 15 years. Aside from his professional life, Donald was an avid golfer who loved spending his free time on the golf course and in Myrtle Beach with his family. He enjoyed being an usher while attending St. Jude’s Catholic Church and will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to his family, and love for Cleveland baseball.
A Celebration of Life followed by interment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital,
