Georgia "Maw" Meadows

Georgia L. Meadows (nee Martin) “Maw”, 96 of Elyria passed on from natural causes in her home on September 29, 2024. She was born in Cunard, WV and lived most of her life in Elyria. Georgia was an avid gardener and bird watcher and enjoyed being outdoors. She loved cooking for family dinners and outings. She was a lifetime member of the Elyria VFW Post 1079, where she donated much of her time. Georgia also was a volunteer at Elyria Memorial Hospital for many years. She will be sadly missed but remembered with good memories by those who came in contact with her.

Georgia is survived by her children, Jeffery Meadows (Paula) of Elyria and Denise Meadows of Elyria; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Workman of Carlisle and Phyliss Miller of Lorain; and a brother, Garland Martin of New York.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert in 1986; daughter, Donna Gentry; grandson, Calvin Bacskay; 10 year companion, John Ridman; parents, Walter and Maggie Martin: brothers, John and Walter Martin; and a sister, Delma Ward.

The family will receive friends at the Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria on Thursday from 10:30 am-12:30 pm, with the service beginning at 12:30 pm, and followed by the entombment at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
