James "Jim" Thompson, 65, of Elyria, Ohio has entered into eternal peace with our Lord after a year-long battle with ALS. 

He was born September 30, 1958, and enjoyed working on bicycles and cars (Especially Ford Rancheros and Dodge Caravans). Jim joined the Air Force after graduating from Elyria Catholic in 1978 and went on to travel extensively throughout the southwestern United States, working in the oil fields. He worked in electronics, construction and manufacturing, along with operating a successful lawn care business.

Jim loved hearing about other people's stories and had many of his own to share. He was also a lover of reading, politics and music.

He is survived by his aunts and uncles; Fred (Chris) Courtright, Cathy (Jerry) Almon and Tony DeGracia; his siblings David (Theresa) Thompson, Greg (Annette) Thompson, Kathleen "Katie" Thompson and Maureen "Molly" Thompson (Jim White); two daughters Jamie (Jason) Baker and Amber Thompson; and two grand children. 

He was proceeded in death by parents, Eugene A. And Rita C. Thompson (nee Courtright), and infant son, James Michael Thompson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22nd from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Reichlin-Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home. Burial to follow at St. Mary's of Painesville Cemetery.
