Julie Bajda, 73 of Elyria passed away on November 15, 2024. She was an Elementary School Teacher at Wilcox School in North Ridgeville for 38 years and then she served as a Substitute Teacher for another 12 years, giving her 50 years of educating the children. She was most proud of authoring a children’s book titled Mother Nature’s Party and she was far along in the process of writing another book, Old Rusty, about a cat. Julie enjoyed knitting, visiting wineries with her friends, and traveling. Julie would also travel to Poland at various times to teach English. She was a member of the North Ridgeville Historical Society and volunteered for many years as a re-enactor at the North Ridgeville Old School House. She attended and supported all of the local playhouse theaters. Julie also volunteered at St. Jude Church as an usher and a youth counselor and at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. Her greatest love was her nieces and grand nieces and spending time with her family.
Julie is survived by her 100 year old father, Marian Bajda; her brother, Andrew (Zhen) Bajda; sister, Celia Bajda; nieces, Brittany (Will) Hanek, Lauren, Marissa, and Kelly Bajda; and great nieces, Lucy and Charlie Hanek. She was preceded in death by her mother Iris Bajda.
The family will receive friends at the Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria on Wednesday, November 20 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Please meet at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria on Thursday, November 21 at 10:30 am for the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Avon.
