Mark Ralph Caruso

December 8, 1963 — October 18, 2023

Elyria

Mark Ralph Caruso, age 59, passed away of natural causes on October 18, 2023 at home. He was born in Elyria, Ohio on December 8, 1963 to William and Carole Caruso (nee Fischbach).

Mark attended Elyria High School and was baptized and confirmed at St. Jude Catholic Church.

As a young man, a family member took him to see David Copperfield in Cleveland and he was excited and became hooked on the mystery of magic. As he grew older, his interests changed and he started to look up to the sky and became fascinated with astrology, the stars, planets, watching a satellite in orbit around the earth or moon or a rocket launch; whatever was going on up in the sky he wanted to know about it and possibly witness it.

If he wasn't in need of computer info, he would call me (his mom) just to let me know when something was going to pass over our part of the earth so I could enjoy it as well. A few days later, he would call me and ask if I saw what he told me about and I always said "yes" even if I didn't ... remember, I'm his mother.

Mark acquired a nickname from friends - they started calling him "Chipper" and his older brother, Kevin, was "Chopper" and a friend of his brother's was named "Goober".

Mark is survived by his loving mother, Carole Caruso; brother, Darrell Caruso (Jeneane); nephews, Anthony Caruso (Kasey), and Vinnie Caruso; and four great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Caruso and nephew, Mario Caruso.
