Nora L Simmerman

Nora L. Simmerman (nee Armstrong) 86 of Elyria, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 14, 2024. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, cooking and baking. She was affectionately referred to as the “cookie grandma” by her grandchildren. Nora also loved gardening, but particularly she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by them.

Nora is survived by her children, Brenda Lanzo (Phillip), Wayne Simmerman (Terri), and David Simmerman (Michele); grandchildren, Phillip Lanzo, Nick Lanzo, Justine Dumont, Steven Simmerman, Holly Simmerman, Randy Leatherwood, Rachel Szymanski, Kaitlyn Cunningham, and Cory Simmerman; and great grandchildren, Lila, Nate, Livi, Claire, Gabbi, and David.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Bessie Armstrong; husband, Gerald Simmerman; grandson, Frank Lanzo; and 11 siblings.

The family will receive friends at the Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria on Monday, November 18 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 am at the funeral home, followed by the interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
