Ralph James “Jim” Rollbuhler, 90 of Elyria, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was an Air Force Veteran. Jim retired from NASA as a Chemical Engineer. He was a very good artist who made comics. He was also a railroad enthusiast with all sorts of models and train paraphernalia in his home. Jim liked collecting stamps, photography before the digital age, travelling with his wife in his younger days, vegetable gardening, and studying genealogy – tracing his family back to the 1700’s. He and his wife Marilyn were volunteers at Elyria Memorial Hospital for forty years.
Jim is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn (nee Sullivan); sons, David (Amy) and Tom (Kim); grandchildren, Devon Koons (Ryan), Colton and Lexie Rollbuhler, Collin and Haley Kozubal.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Rollbuhler and a son, Steven Rollbuhler.
The family will receive friends at the Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 360 Princeton Ave., Elyria Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00 am, followed by the burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
